Valerie A. Grant

CEO – Grant Consulting, LLC

Valerie A. Grant, GPC has worked as a grant professional since 1998. Valerie is currently the only grant professional in San Diego County, CA that has earned the Grant Professional Certification

Valerie is the Founder and CEO of Grant Consulting Services, LLC. a grant development consulting firm founded in 2000. Valerie and her team help to make the world a better place for all people. They engage in the fight against systemic giants of injustice, assist in remedies of inequality, and collaborate to empower the disenfranchised. Working with organizations across the globe that help people, Grant Consulting Services, LLC assists in feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, cultivating the arts, student learning, and combating the effects of global warming. We give a voice to the unheard and inspire the compassion and unity of all people.

Grant Consulting Services, LLC assists organizations through grant readiness assessments, project development, comprehensive funding searches, expert grant management, and professional grant proposal writing services. Funding has been secured for non-profit organizations from government, corporate, and foundation grantmaking sources.

Valerie has a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from Baker College in Flint, MI, and studied Social Work for two years at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. 

Tashia Doby

Operations Manager

Tashia has more than 20 years of professional experience in multiple industries. With her BS in Chemistry, MBA and MIT degrees from SC State and AIU respectively, she has provided management consulting and project management support to different clients for more than 5 years. Currently, she resides in GA with family and her 12 yr old Lhasa Apso named Rhommeo. She focuses on making a positive difference in the lives of others. When not working (very rare), she writes and binge watches shows on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. 

Michelle Ito

Erate Manager

Michelle is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in Sports and Activity Management. A teacher and a swimmer instructor turned into customer service specialists 16 years ago and has been focusing on Erate for more than two years. 

 

Betsy A. Northrup, MPA

Grant Professional

Betsy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Asbury College and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Kentucky. She has more than 25 years of experience writing grants and working in various non-profits, including human services and higher education. She lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband and is enjoying being with her first granddaughter, Caroline. 

Emily Hall

Grant Professional

Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree from The University of Alabama. Over the last 4 years, Emily has gained invaluable experience in the fundraising industry to include grant writing, corporate and foundation relations, and phonathon management. Her experience includes the nonprofit sector and higher education. She is passionate about utilizing her grant writing skillset to assist organizations in furthering their mission. Emily resides in Tuscaloosa, AL and enjoys spending time on Lake Tuscaloosa, walking her dog, and attending fitness classes.

Lydia Nicholson

Grant Research Professional

Lydia earned her Bachelor’s in International Studied from Trinity College and her Master’s from SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, VT. She has spent ten years working for nonprofit organizations, focusing on financial health and funding diversification through grant writing, project management, and major gifts. Outside of work, you can find Lydia weightlifting, playing trivia, skiing, or watching documentaries with her rescued Shih Tzu and two cats.

Jilian Miguel

Erate Assistant

Jilian is a senior studying Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in preparation for a career in Civil Engineering, and she has previously worked as a customer service representative. In her spare time, she loves to eat and enjoys watching Netflix with her family. Success, in her opinion, is the result of hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.

Lindsay Martin

Grant Professional

Growing up in San Diego, Lindsay’s family instilled in her the importance of volunteering and a heart for helping others. All those volunteer hours eventually led to jobs with a variety of nonprofits, including 14 years at the Make-A-Wish Foundation. With a dual degree in International Communications and Spanish, Lindsay brings grant experience from a variety of disciplines, including health & human services, education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, youth development, and the environment. When not writing, you’ll find her traveling, reading, mountain biking, and trying new restaurants with her husband and two adventurous teens.
