Community Impact
Our commitment to social responsibility includes:
- Championing women in sports through our sponsorship of the Michigan State University Women's D1 Hockey team. (The school does not have an NCAA hockey program for women, and the players have to pay for their own ice time and travel.)
- Minimizing environmental impact through our remote work model, reducing commuter emissions and office energy consumption
- Contributing resources to local community projects and organizations such as North County Philanthropy Council
- Volunteer as a GPA San Diego Chapter Ambassador to the Grant Professionals Certification Institute.
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and best practices through active participation in professional networks.
What Our Team Has to Say…
Each of our team members has been vital to the success of our grant development services. Here's a few words from them about what they’ve accomplished or felt is important over the past year.
Michelle Ito, Erate Manager - Reflecting on how the year went, I am particularly proud of how we managed the schools, despite the challenges that came with the Erate changes. Adapting to those shifts required quite a bit of coordination and problem-solving, but it was rewarding to see everything come together smoothly. It's been a year of resilience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help the schools meet their needs.
Tashia Doby, Operations Manager - As the Operations Manager, I get to pull the curtains back - like the Wizard of Oz - and see the bigger picture. This year has been impactful for all of the clients we have worked with as well as helped us gain more insight into targeting and focusing on several aspects of the grant development process to ensure our organizations are able to focus on their mission and the communities they support. One thing from this past year that stood out to me was that I started working on submitting grants and won my 1st grant award! I also assisted with a state grant application and that was a doozy! So, as far as accomplishments, I would just say, if you think you can't do something, still try it because you never know how it will turn out. We expect 2025 will be even better than 2024, so enjoy your family, time off, and come back refreshed in 2025 so we can help you get'er done!
Looking Ahead
As we move into 2025, we're excited to:
- Continue to provide expert grant development services
- Expand our Grantegy learning options to include live webinars and coaching
- Present about capacity building at the San Diego County Grant Professionals Association Regional conference.
- Launch the Grantegy Academy: A paid three-month mentorship for newcomers to build a strong foundation in grant development through learning our signature Grantegy-Don't Leave Your Grants to Chance! framework with hands-on grant development experience
Thank You
We're grateful to everyone in our network—clients, partners, supporters, and friends—who have been part of our journey this year. We look forward to creating more of an impact together in 2025.
Warm regards,
The Grant Consulting Services Team
